With videos, written material, & active practice, we’ll reflect on tools & ‘tricks’ for uncovering the subconscious in movement & ideas.
We’ll also investigate how working with video has influenced approaches to choreography – particularly the unusual phrasing & mysterious rhythms of backward motion, so deliciously displayed in the old analog editing techniques.
A physical & psychological warmup derived from Skinner Releasing will prepare us for our day of reflection & experimentation.
MAY 10 2009 – Artist as Citizen | Social Engagement as Art
JUNE 14 2009 – Site|| Responses to Natural and Built Environments
Hello, is this workshop open to anyone? I just moved to portland and am hoping to dive into the dance scene.
Yes, the workshop is open. RSVPs are good.
I would love to join you for these events, but I usually have another monthly commitment that meets at the same time. I will be available for the April date. I have put it in my book.
I’ve met you a couple of times and attended one of your tuning score gatherings. I am a dancer with two young sons and hope to get more involved soon. My youngest is now three and doors are beginning to open again…
Looking forward.
Stephanie, of course I remember you. That would be so great to see you in April and also out and about as you get more involved!
i came a week early for the december one, for some reason i thought i had the right date, stood outside for some time, it was cold…
i’ll try again for feb 8th
i’ll be coming up from eugene by train
could i be put on email list in case of cancellation?
thanks
